Welcome to Financial Literacy for the Youth! My name is Matteo Gupta, and I am the founder of this website. I have grown up in San Francisco almost all my life, and live with my mother, father, and sister. I currently attend Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, and am part of their inquiry and innovation program. This program has allowed me to think of universal problems and helped me come up with different methods of fixing them. This program inspired my website, "Financial Literacy for Teens," in multiple ways. For one, I myself, am a teenager; and never got the chance to learn basic financial skills from my school. I've always thought to myself, "How will I learn to set up my own bank account?" "How and when should I invest in stocks?" "How do I manage my money?" This website, Financial Literacy for the Youth will be able to answer all these questions, and many more than one may have regarding the complex world of finance and investments. My second inspiration in creating this was to help other teens who are going through the same situation as I was. My goal is to help them feel confident with their financial skills and be able to apply them to the real world.
